Is Water Important For Weight Loss?
Yes, water is very important if you are trying to lose weight. It is essential for digestion, converting food to energy and eliminating waste.
In a nutshell, water helps to maintain peak body efficiency.
Many foods - especially fruit and vegetables contain a certain amount of water, but it is still essential to drink about 6-8 glasses of water per day.
Tip: Don't wait until you feel thirsty before you drink, as by this time you may already be dehydrated.

You know, I just don't buy it. I would love to see a scientific study that was not underwritten by the bottled water industry that supports this issue.
I was on weighthingychers a few years ago and losing a steady 1/2 pound a week, even though i was spending 6 hours a week at the gym and being very good with my food. My leader kept drilling the "water, water, water" message into my head. She said I would feel better, my weight would begin to come off faster, my skin would be better, blah blah.
For 3 months I drink 2 litres of water a day. It was incredibly disruptive. I do not have the kind of job that I can just disappear from for a few minutes every half hour. I did not lose weight any faster, my skin did not clear up and I never did get to the point that I could drink that much water without running to the bathroom every few minutes as I was told would happen.
I just do not believe it!

I don't know about what all water does for our bodies.
What I do know is that if I drink at least 2L of water/day I am less likely to binge. As for peeing all the time if it's a hot day I will hardly pee at all regardless of how much I drink. But today was kind of chilly, I drank 2-1/2L of water and was running up and down the stairs to the bathroom all day.

Good morning Peggy. I am one that does not buy into fads and promo saleing either. For example, against the better judgement of almost everyone on this planet, I would say that milk and dairy products are NOT essential to our lives as we have grown up being told. After doing lots of research and seeing the amount of allergies to dairy and the actually unnatural way we obtain dairy and alot of other things of course, I believe there are many other ways we can obtain our health needs without the use of milk products and it is not something that we require at all. I mean, what other animal on the planet nurses from a DIFFERANT animal after being weened from its mother??? ONly humans as far as I have found. But, as for water, I started the suggested amount of water back in 1992. I also drink only steam distilled water, and I have seen amazing results. I lost a great deal of weight back in 92 by adding water to a healthy diet. All of this a chiroprctor put me on for health problems. When I stopped eating well I was still drinking the water and didn't lose anymore, but didn't gain any back. When I stopped the water, the weight came back on. I felt much better while drinking the water like I should. My joints felt better, the bloating was not there and I just generally felt better. My grandparents even saw a differance in my and started getting distilled water and drinking more. They also started feeling the differance in their bodies and have continued to get the water for almost 10 years now (and grandpa is a VERY frugal man, he would not pay for it if it wasn't really helping him). He actually slowed down on his water recently and had to have an MRI not to long ago. He later tried to go through a metal detector and set it off. They found out that the die they used in the MRI had not gone out of his system. He had not been drinking enough to wash it out the way it was supposed to. He immediately realized how much he had slowed down and started drinking again and just a couple of weeks ago we were talking about how he feels better again. So I am one sold believer on water from my OWN life experiences and proofs. There is a lot more of course, but I am not writing a novel before work today.. LOL.. Oh, and as for the peeing, it does slow down. But it tends to go in cycles I have noticed, plus it greatly depends on the foods you are eating also I think. I have noticed if I eat salty foods or stuff that makes me retain water, I am in the bathroom more. I think maybe because the more water you drink the more it helps flush your system, so there seems to be mroe going on. And of course the time of the month and if you are drinking your water at a condensed time,, there are a lot of factors, but I know I drink anywhere around 2 liters most days and I do live in the bathroom on some days and other days I wont be in there but a couple of times. Sooo, not exactly sure what determines, but I know NOT drinking much water I do the exact same thing. LOL. Hope you all the best. And by the way, I do NOT sale water ;-)
